USCAP Foundation Travel Scholarship

The USCAP is now accepting applications for the Leland Stoddard Travel Scholarship Program for pathologists to attend the 2015 USCAP Annual Meeting. Scholarships up to $2,500 will be provided by the Leland Stoddard Endowment as well as through philanthropic donations to the USCAP Foundation.

Criteria for application

Scholarships will be given to practicing pathologists who: Reside in an underserved country (as defined by WHO – HINARI website) and have a demonstrable need for financial support to attend the Annual Meeting of the USCAP.

Reside in the US or Canada and have a demonstrable need for financial support to attend the Annual Meeting of the USCAP.

 

All Applicants must provide a supporting letter from a Department Head or Supervisor attesting to the need for travel assistance and the potential benefit of attending the meeting.

 

Preference will be given to:

  • Applicants who have submitted scientific abstracts for presentation at the meeting
  • Applicants who are dues paying members of the USCAP
  • Pathologists just beginning their careers (in practice or less than 5 years)
  • Pathologists-in-training

 

Application Deadline

Applications will be accepted up until 11/10/14

 

Expenses Covered by the Award

Economy coach fare air travel to and from the meeting location and four nights lodging at a conference hotel, and general meeting registration not to exceed the award of up to $2,500.

 

Not Covered: Membership dues, fees for courses that have additional charges, meals, ground transportation, baggage fees or travel itinerary change fees.

 

Award Allocation

Applicants will be notified of the results of the award process on 12/10/14 , leaving approximately 3 months for purchase of an economy coach round trip airplane ticket. Failure of the successful awardees to register for the meeting prior to the registration deadline will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
